Narrow restaurant spaces face inherent challenges: limited horizontal expansion space, easy visual congestion, and difficulty in functional zoning. Therefore, we aim to break this conventional wisdom and let everyone know that even if your store is narrow and small, with our professional design and layout, it can still have its own unique brand identity. For this project, we recreated a model of the store at scale, almost 100%, based on the floor plan provided by the client and some on-site photos of the store.

Bohemian Style Interior Design
Main furniture uses rattan/wicker, solid wood, and micro-cement, creating a warm, natural texture that is the foundation of the bohemian atmosphere. The main color is off-white wall + sage green soft furniture + natural wood color, with retro patterned floor tiles as the visual focus, avoiding the clutter of traditional bohemian style while retaining its ethnic charm. The combination of rattan woven chandeliers, glass pendant lights, and track spotlights forms a three-dimensional lighting layer, which not only solves the lighting problem of narrow spaces but also enhances the sense of space hierarchy through light and shadow. Custom circular rattan wall decorations, hand-woven macrame wall hangings, and feather decorative ornaments are integrated into the wall design.

Overall Layout
For this narrow, two-story restaurant, we adopted a "vertical functional zoning + linear passenger flow" layout strategy. On the first floor, upon entering, the seating area is visible on both sides. The reception counter, located at the end of the linear space, becomes the visual focus of the entire first floor, guiding passenger flow and integrating order placement, pick-up, and display functions. The staircase, behind the reception area on the second floor to the right, can be used as a private room. The left side of the second floor features a comfortable booth seating area.

Reception & Display Counter
This restaurant has a separate kitchen area. Therefore, the entire reception area is mainly used for cashier and display, and can also be used to make simple drinks. The reception counter adopt a curved front design to soften the visual sense of the narrow space, avoiding the sharp feeling of right-angle furniture. The main body is made of micro-cement laminate with a wear-resistant and anti-fouling surface, suitable; the bottom is equipped with a solid wood slat skirt, which echoes the bohemian style. The counter is divided into two parts: the left is the order placement and cashier area, and the right is the display cold storage area. Behind the counter, two custom arched solid wood slat screens are set, which not only block the view of the back, but also become a decorative element of the space, enhancing the sense of hierarchy of the wall.

Seat Furniture
First Floor
Because the restaurant is a long and narrow linear space, and we adopt a combination of central aisle + side table" to maximize space utilization. The table tops are custom-made solid wood with a thickness of 4cm, wear-resistant and scratch-resistant, suitable for commercial use. Two types of chairs are used: sage green soft bag chairs and rattan woven chairs. The soft bag chair has a curved backrest, which increases the comfort of long-time seating; the rattan woven chair is light in weight, good in air permeability, and echoes the bohemian style.
Second Floor
Second floor space is booth area, to meet the needs of different customer groups. Booth is custom-made with a solid wood frame, and the cushion is made of high-density foam + waterproof and oil-proof fabric, which is comfortable and durable. The back of the booth is equipped with a custom art wall, with the brand logo and solid wood shelves. The tables on the second floor are the same as those on the first floor, but the layout is more flexible and the number can be adjusted. The stairwell is used as a natural partition, and a custom solid wood handrail is set, which ensures safety and becomes a decorative element of the space.

Storage Cabinet
The under-stair space is a typical "dead space" in narrow restaurants, and we design a custom storage cabinet for it. The cabinet is made of MDF material with matte white paint board, which is integrated with the wall, without affecting the visual sense of the space. The upper part is an open shelf, and the lower part is a closed cabinet with a door, which can store tableware, cleaning supplies, and spare materials. The cabinet size is customized according to the space, making full use of every inch of space. Which solves the storage problem of narrow spaces without affecting the appearance.
